Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music on the internet in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was a member of the Dreamville crew at the time, wanted to have her create Rihanna in reference to Rihanna. On December 8th, that she'd made an agreement with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was launched in September. On November 9 she released two other singles, 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles, titled No One or Pdigree. She then appeared to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track called Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26th, 2019 for her debut album of the same title. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 for the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018 she took part in her From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
